YMC
Explanation
The youth
meeting center is an educative
group accommodation and education centre for
schools, foundations, families etc.
The
youth meeting center is part of the youth department of the
German war
grave
service. It is right next to the 17 hectare vast German war
cemetery.
32 000 graves let you
experience, what evil war can do.
Our aim goes
like:
The youth will meet the past and work together on peace
projects.
The
participants learn that:
PEACE doesn't need
to mean a war free
environment.
Everybody needs to
know himself before
understanding
others.
A norm or value can
be different from each
other.
Cultures can be
normal for one and for the
other very
strange.
Education can be
fun.
The
educative projects can be done during
a stay at the YMC. But we can
always arrange some extra time for your own projects.
Most of the educative projects are free of charge; otherwise it will be
mentioned by the explanation of the project.
Groups that don't stay overnight at the Youth Meeting Center can also do
educative projects during a days visit. Then it will be combined with a
guidance over the cemetery and one or more educative projects.
